Come And Celebrate - Thanksgiving Service (David Southern)

In a vibrant and interactive message, David Southern, our new Kids & Young Families Director, explores Psalm 100 as God’s "party invitation" to all of creation. Connecting the psalm to the preceding passages (Psalms 93–99) that declare "the Lord reigns," David emphasises that joyful worship is the natural response when we truly see who God is. He breaks down the Hebrew concepts behind the psalm: todah (a physical thank-offering brought into God's presence), avad (where everyday work and service are elevated to worship), yada (knowing God experientially rather than just intellectually), and chesed (God's stubborn, covenant-keeping love). Sharing from his own personal story of losing both parents at a young age, David testifies that God’s enduring love and faithfulness (emunah) remain a solid anchor even in the deepest grief. Ultimately, the message calls young and old alike to step into active gratitude, acknowledging that we belong to a faithful Shepherd who knows us by name.
